Best Park In Burlington
By far the best park in Burlington. Right on the bay front and a wonderful view. Great place for picnics and there is also a boat ramp nearby so you can launch a boat and go out for a cruise in Hamilton Harbour (although the view on the otherside of the harbour isn't so great...)
Lovely park, ample parking, besutiful nature trails, wildlife, great for family picnics. Attched to LaSalle Harbour which offers a beautiful view of the bay
History and Nature, Water and Fauna
I love the trail along the bayfront because not only is it peaceful walking so close to the water's edge, but one can read about aquatic life and the Carolinian Forest which is found along the trail. Swans, ducks and multiple varieties of song birds nest there. A great place to take a book and sit on the many benches overlooking the water, or just sit and 'be' in the quiet of nature. Every time of year is great, See the swans' nests up close in Spring or the leaves change colour in Autumn. The boardwalk and level path makes for ease of walking, or for taking a handicapped person. Parking is close with no steps.
The swans live here year round. The trumpeters are gorgeous. Go in the morning, the magic light hitting the water, the swans having their leisurely bath. Or in the winter the striking golden light in the ice and snow.
The park itself is great. My sons spent many many hours in the wading and splash area. They’re grown now, but hopefully grandkids will join me at the park again one day. :-)
Great location, well maintained. A nice stroll on both boardwalk and gravel pathways. Free parking, water accessable.
Late Spring and Early Summer are Good for Birds
If you want a birding spot this should be one of your places in Burlington. In the past year we have seen Eastern Screetch Owls, American Redstarts, Orioles and a few others whose names escape me. Best to go when the leaves are not 100% in.

Grab your bike and hit the trail!
This is a smallish park that borders Lake Ontario, Canada and a ritzy part of Burlington. It is community oriented, however the cycling trail goes through this gorgeous expanse of hilly forest that is so much fun - just enough ups and downs to make it fun an not too dangerous for casual cyclists like me. There is also a well used road that goes through this forest that allows cycling but is really scary as it is a high hill with curves and visibility is limited so be careful. The forest feels wild and untouched. Love it!
Decided to go for a stroll while visiting Burlington and happy we found Lasalle. Lovely time to soak in the greens and blues of nature, walking through the woods seeing chipmunks and cardinals, then along the water watching ducks, geese and swans.
Paradise in Burlington
If your idea of bliss is sitting by the Lake, watching sailboats, geese, and swans, LaSalle Park Marine is for you!! We go there almost every day of the year....this is picnic season....take a lunch with you and relax. In the winter, open the sunroof and pretend that you're at a resort. Lots of benches for sitting. Endless water views and glorious sunsets!
I just discovered this nature walk and was pleasantly surprised to find such a wonderful place. This is nature at it's best. Many of the small animals come up to you to check if there is snacks for them. There are signs telling people not to feed the wildlife but people do and unfortunately it attracts a lot of Canada geese and they can be a nuisance. You will see various ducks, swans, squirrels and chipmunks. I started my walk from the Burlington sailing and yacht club and walked all along the shores of lake Ontario. There are wooden bridges over natural marsh areas which allows you to see frogs, salamanders and other water animals at different times of years. This is a place where you can just drop everything and go for a long or short walk. Make sure you bring your camera.
