Feng Shui: 7 taboos in bathroom design

Based on Chinese Feng Shui practice and theory, water flow direction is very important factor in Feng Shui. Bathroom is where water gathers, so the location and position of your bathroom is important. There are 7 taboos in bathroom design that is not recommended by Feng Shui practitioners in China:

It is recommended not to build your bathroom in the direction of southwest of the direction of northeast. The reasons:

As I said, the bathroom is where water gathers, there coming water and going water, very heavy water influence area. As southwest and northeast are two directions with heavy earth influences, if you build your bathroom in these two direction it will generate a situation of earth restricts water and this situation will be a persistent and nonstop situation. This constant restriction by earth to water will cause the damage to your family members health.

It is not recommended to build your bathroom in the center of your house. The reasons:

I need to introduce an ancient Chinese Luo Book which is the origin of I Ching, the Bible of Feng Shui. According to Luo Book, the center is regulated as earth direction so if you build your bathroom in the center of your house would be considered unlucky, another example of situation generated by such design to restrict water by earth in a constant way. The center of a house is just like the heart of a person. It is an important location not only its directions, but also the command of the family. A bathroom built there will hinder the development and deployment of your energy of your family so nothing would achieve.

It is not recommended to build your bathroom in the south. The reason:

South has heavy fire influences and bathroom has heavy water influences so it is unlucky.

Bathroom should keep air flow freely.

To have fresh air in bathroom is important. It clears out the filthy air and allows fresh air flow in from outside world. Open bathroom doors if it doesn’t have a window. This way, you can inhaul better fresher air when you sit there alone and think.

It is recommended to have your bathroom in a hiding location. The reason:

Bathroom is an extreme pravite place so it shall not in a place of attraction. The door of your bathroom should not face the main gate of your house. It is not recommended in one straight line there is a coexistence of bathroom door and main gate.  It is not a good Feng Shui if you have such a deployment of your internal design, people believe it may cause cancer if your bathroom placed in a center attracting location or face directly to the main gate.

It is not recommended to renovate your bathroom to make it another bedroom. Reason:

In a mordern society, land is rare and expansive. Many family may choose to renovate one of the bathrooms to make it a bedroom so that they can house more people in that house. However, this is against Feng Shui theory. This is not only because bathroom has its path toward the drainage. The flow of wastewater can harm the family, especially people who live in that bedroom. In Feng Shui, bathroom is a place of impurity so it should be in a direction and placement of evil to restrict the evil spirit. If it is in a condo building, even you made the change but people above and under they are still keep that place as a bathroom so that will affect you.

It is recommended to keep it clean in your bathroom. Reason:

In Feng Shui, bathroom is a place where filth goes. It is so often makes it necessary to clean from time to time. Filth produces virus, virus spread disease, disease makes people sick and die.
